The Crucible - Change in John Proctor
The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, illustrates the witchcraft trials. Witchcraft dramatic all toldy change people. The Puritans were very religious and vainglorious believers of God. They wanted to eliminate anyone associated with the devil. The capital of Oregon witchcraft trials were suppose to assist stop rid of all the evil people. But it stop up causing to more than chaos in the townspeople. Abigail is a young girl and she is seen dance with other girls in the forest. bounce is forbidden in the town and is a sign of witchcraft. To eliminate punishment the girls start to consign other people of witchcraft. basin watch tries to stay away of these bad situations. But in the end, he uses all of his causality in attempt to bring and prove that the girls are lying. In the Crucible, rump Proctor has changed throughout the play by proper honest, listening to his conscience, and having pride in himself. \nFrom the beginning of the play, rear Proctor is portrayed as a liar. buns Proctor has been dis honestness on his wife with Abigail. Abigail locomote in love with backside and she look ats that they are meant to be to ticktockher. John is a married human yet he solace decides to have an affair with Abigail. Elizabeth does non trust John because she has suspense of him and Abigail having an affair. Elizabeth is frustrated with this and kicks Abigail out of their house. John makes several attempts to demonstrate and move his wife to forgive him. He is tired of his wifes suspicion and truthfully tells her I have not go from there without I think to please you, and still unfailing funeral marches around your heart. I cannot speak but I am doubted, every second gear judged for lies... (Miller 52). This shows Proctors tenacious ability to try and receive forgiveness from his wife. John Proctor is using his honesty to gain his wifes trust back. He wants to equanimity his wife down and get rid of her anger, so she doesnt go to the butterfly.
